Suffering Cyclo-Cross

I think Jay's Blog title says it like it is for me. The ugly faces that the photographers have been capturing of me are just ridiculous. Just one ugly face left to make at Sunday's Waterford race and my set will be complete.

I have been wondering if I might have asthma or something. These faces are a result of my gasping for air.

Bloomer Cyclo-Cross Race

The Bloomer cross race was the funnest of the series so far for me. With a majority of the course pavement or hard packed trail I think the mt bike was much more competitive. Ended up in a 3 man group with Greg and Don Cameron running in 7th, 8th and 9th. With 2 riders against 1 I was thinking we should at least get the 7th spot. So when Greg made a gap with a lap to go I wasn't about to chase him down. Greg stayed away and I was able to get the next spot with my blazing 33 mph finish sprint. At least that was the max speed on my computer at the end of the race and I figure that's where it came from. I don't really know if Don was even trying as we had talked before the race how we are getting tired of going hard this year. Racing from March thru December makes for a long season....

Don gave me a fighting chance by sprinting one-handed at our finish.
