Boyne XC Race
Blue skies, temps in the 60s, fall colors in full effect, and a mt bike race on one of the best courses in the state. It doesn't not get much better...
The race was really fun. I'm kinda bummed that the season is basically over now. I can't believe how much I have been enjoying my trek top fuel 110 full suspension mt bike. I have been a "hard tail guy" for years and now I just can't stand riding trails on my hard tail. Top 3 spots today were full suspension bikes. :-)
Elite Men's Results
Shawn and I made the trip up to Boyne in an "M-Plate" Jeep Compass. The Compass is pretty cool. I'm kinda shopping for a new vehicle so it was nice to get some hands on experience with one of our new products.
Shawn's race went well until a last lap broken chain had him running most of the final 4 miles. He still ended up 4th of 8 guys in his field. Dang.

Did you go ride up the golf cart path or trail and do hill repeats after the race? I figured 26 miles of Boyne is a little short for daily mileage! Nice job on getting #2.

Thanks Brent,
I left Boyne with 50 miles. Just some quality cool down miles after the race. Of course I had to do a little 15 mile recovery spin when I got home to royal oak, to total 65 on the day. :-)
Nice job to you too up there. Yep, I'd say you are ready to do the elite race. Probably more fun for you with some more competition.
