Boyne Marathon Weekend

Alex, Bill, and I made the trek up to Boyne Falls to race the Boyne Marathon. Weather was perfect. Mexican food for our Friday pre-race dinner in Boyne City (my favorite).

Friday's sunset (Boyne City).

Race was good and bad. A poor turnout (only 8 elite guys) was kind of a bummer but of course it made a top 10 finish pretty easy. The race distance got cut from 56 miles to 44 miles (another dissapointment). I ended up 2nd (52 seconds behind 1st). It's possible that missing 12 miles might have made the difference for me. I felt surprisinly great at the finish. Still it was a really fun course with some interesting new stuff in the lap.

The Dolppinator
"44 miles? That's not a Marathon."

Bill Clikeman
"My brake wasn't just rubbing, it was applied."

Hermit-Man
"Did I leave the iron on?"
