I was looking forward to the Addison Oaks race as it's become one of the funnest trails around. The race was going great until both rails on my saddle snapped. I tried to do a gorilla tape fix but that didn't work. So I pulled the seat post out and rode standing. That was a lot tougher than I'd expected. It did not take long before my calves were screaming, but I have this thing about finishing. After 339 races I have only 1 DNF. When I finished the guys presented me with a nice little award which they incorporated the carcass of the old saddle, neat. After, Cullen, Dana, and I did the traditional post race ride which helped me finish out the day with my 32nd hundo of the year. :-)

I like your medal but you have to tell the organizers that the results showing you not finishing. I know there is almost no way I could do that many laps standing. Well done.

Thanks John..

I noticed that as well. At (www.raceservices.com) they did not post my last lap, but it is listed at (results.active.com) which is wierd. I might just send them a note as you suggest. I'd hate to have anyone think I DNF'ed. :-(

I'll add a little screen grab image to this post so a record of the event is preserved for posterity.
