Pontiac Lake Time Trial

Race was really fun. Trail had a few of those sunshine induced greasy spots which had us all riding a little cautious. Plus last years first race broken collarbone was in the back of my mind.. The cold temps had my legs aching right off the line and felt pretty crappy the entire race but as I started to catch guys I respect I started to think maybe I wasn't sucking after all...

At the end, on just my 3rd trail ride of 2007, I finished 3rd at the Pontiac Lake Time Trial.. Maybe I'm on to something. Next year make my 1st trail ride my 1st race and finish 1st! Yeah, right.

I was asked today if I still get nervous after 268 races over the last 15 years. It's an interesting question. I don't really feel like I get that nervous anymore. A little for sure. I think that's how your body prepares for battle. If you didn't feel anything I don't believe you would perform as well...

Nice result Robert! That is correct, the feeling of nervousness is an involuntary bodily response to positive or negative stress. It tells the body and mind you better get prepared. Obviously you have done something right for your last 200+ races. Keep it rolling!
